Big Months of Sport: August & September Highlights
August and September have been a whirlwind of activity both here in the clinic and out on the field. With tournaments, school sports, and world-class competitions in full swing, our team has been busy supporting athletes at every level — from local schools through to the world stage.
Tournament Week
Tournament Week is a much-anticipated annual event where secondary school teams from across the motu compete in a range of sports. It’s a cornerstone of the school sporting calendar, bringing together multi-day and single-day competitions that foster skill development, camaraderie, and lifelong memories.
This year, Craig was on the sidelines in Auckland, supporting the Cambridge High School First XI Football team at their tournament. After a week of tough competition, the boys finished in 7th place overall — an awesome achievement. Well done team!
Zespri AIMS Games
The Zespri AIMS Games, held annually in Tauranga, is Australasia’s largest junior sporting festival. With over 14,000 athletes from 431 schools competing across 27 sporting codes, it’s a huge celebration of youth sport, teamwork, and growth.
Hamish is among the many parents cheering from the sidelines this year, supporting his son Jack and the Cambridge Middle School hockey team. We wish the squad all the best as they take the field.
World Rowing Championships
Looking ahead to later this month, Craig will be heading to Shanghai to join the New Zealand Elite Rowing Team as lead physio at the 53rd World Rowing Championships. Running from 21–28 September at Dianshan Lake, this international regatta will see over 1,000 athletes from more than 60 countries compete at the highest level.
It’s an honour to continue supporting our country’s top athletes, and we’ll be cheering loudly for the Kiwi team as they take on the world.
