What does it take to become a Physiotherapist?
✅ 1. Complete an Approved Qualification
🎓 Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPhty), Duration: 4 years full-time, Admission is competitive.

📘 Alternative Pathway
If you already have a relevant undergraduate degree, you may be able to apply for an accelerated or graduate-entry program.
🏥 2. Clinical Training (as part of the degree)
You must complete clinical placements. Learning on the job with real patients! Supervised by registered physiotherapists.
These may occur in public hospitals, private practices, or other community health settings.
📝 3. Register with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand (PBNZ)
🔄 4. Ongoing Requirements
After becoming registered:
You are expected to complete Continuing Professional Development (CPD) regularly to maintain competence.
